LED Lamp

Not that I advocate the end of Christmas, but one benefit is the dramatic price reductions of Christmas lights, specifically LEDs.  I managed to find the saturday supersaver price on a set of white LED lights for around $10 (although I heard the 75% off sales had them down to $3).  My plan is to make a lamp.  Here is what you need.  1) A set of LED Christmas lights 2) a light socket adapter 3) and a lamp and shade.  Bunch the LED lights up with a rubber band and plug into the socket adapter.  Balance the shade on top and you now have the equivalence of about 60 watts of light for the bargain price of about 4 watts (flourescents are still at 14 watts).  Plus, no mercury and 60,000 hours bulb life.
